Comments
When visitors leave a comment on our site, our system collects the information entered in the comment form, their IP address, and their browser user agent in order to detect and prevent unwanted comments.
If a visitor uses the Gravatar service and provides their email address, the system sends a hash (an anonymized string) of the email address to the Gravatar service to check if they have an associated profile picture. The confidentiality provisions of the Gravatar service are available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/ . Once the comment is validated, the visitor’s profile photo is publicly visible next to their comment.
Media
When uploading images to the Site, we recommend that you avoid including EXIF GPS coordinate data in those images. Visitors to the site can download and extract location data from these images.
Cookies
If a visitor leaves a comment on our site, we offer to save their name, email address and website in cookies. We provide this functionality to improve user convenience, thereby avoiding the need to re-enter this information in future comments. These cookies are valid for one year.
When a visitor accesses the login page, a temporary cookie is created to check whether their browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain any personal data and is automatically deleted when you close the browser.
While logged in, we use cookies to save login information and screen preferences. The validity period of a connection cookie is two days, and that of a screen option cookie is one year.
