Top cruise lines 2025
Options and comparison
Are you looking for the best cruise line for your sea vacation? Virgin Voyages, Cunard, MSC, Costa, Royal Caribbean, Ponant… it’s not always easy to navigate the offers, prices, and onboard services.
In this guide, I compare the main cruise lines based on your preferences: luxury, family, adventure, destinations, included services… I help you choose the cruise that truly matches your expectations.
What is the best cruise line?
In 2025, it’s hard to pick a single “best” cruise line, as quality varies depending on individual expectations. Recent customer reviews, however, reveal some trends: several long-established lines, like MSC or Costa, have seen quality decline in recent years, especially since the Covid-19 pandemic. Staff shortages, occasional drops in dining quality, and aging ships are recurring criticisms.
On the other hand, some premium cruise lines, such as Ponant or Celebrity Cruises, maintain a high standard, with newer ships, more staff, and personalized services. Virgin Voyages also stands out by taking good care of its employees, which directly reflects in onboard service quality and overall guest experience.
To fully enjoy your 2025 cruise and avoid disappointments, I recommend looking beyond the ship’s age. A successful cruise isn’t necessarily the newest vessel; it’s primarily about the atmosphere and how well it matches your desires! Based on my experience (fantastic cruises on older ships and less enjoyable ones on newer vessels), my real advice is: always check included amenities, read recent customer reviews (not just TripAdvisor), and most importantly, make sure the overall vibe fits what you are looking for.
Honestly, my secret is always going with a positive mindset: sharing, having fun (even without alcohol, I don’t drink), and embracing the “one life” philosophy. For me, every cruise can be amazing! If people around are grumpy, I ignore them and my cruise remains top-notch. Remember, cruises last about 8 days on average: relax, be happy and respectful onboard, and HAVE FUN!

MSC Cruises is one of the most popular cruise lines in Europe, especially favored by families and mid-budget travelers. With a current fleet of 19 ships, it offers a wide variety of itineraries in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Northern Europe, and beyond.
However, perceived quality has declined in recent years: limited onboard staff, dining sometimes criticized, and some aging ships. Nevertheless, MSC remains an affordable option, with entertainment and programs tailored for families.

My cruise experience and plans for 2025/2026
Virgin, Royal, and more…
I have had the chance to sail with several cruise lines such as Louise Cruise Line, CDF, MSC, Costa… Since the pandemic, I have noticed a noticeable drop in service quality on Costa and MSC: understaffing, dining often below expectations, and aging ships impacting comfort and onboard atmosphere.
However, I remain enthusiastic and curious about new experiences. Virgin Voyages, in particular, catches my attention thanks to its exemplary staff treatment and modern vision of cruising. Their latest ship, Resilient Lady, promises a more responsible, innovative, and high-quality experience, perfectly aligned with my expectations for 2025.
Unfortunately, I cannot cover all cruise lines in the world. But if you’re truly interested, bookmark us and you will receive an incredible gift in 1 month, along with the complete list of cruise lines worldwide. You will be amazed!
