To get to the Colosseum, it is best to use public transport. Metro line B stops at “Colosseo” station, right in front of the Colosseum. It is also possible to take the bus or walk from the surrounding area, allowing you to enjoy magnificent views of Rome’s historic monuments. The tourist bus is a huge time saver, it’s my option.
Once there, it is possible to visit the interior of the Colosseum with an entrance ticket which also allows access to the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill. The guided tour allows you to discover the history and architecture of this impressive monument. It is also possible to visit the Colosseum at night, which offers a unique and magical experience.

The Roman Forum is an emblematic place in Rome which offers a real journey through time. During my visit, I was transported into the history of this city and its empire, discovering the remains of this ancient Roman city.
To get to the Roman Forum, you can use the metro to Colosseo station, then walk a few minutes or take the tourist bus (more convenient!).
The remains of temples, markets and basilicas are very well preserved, and the atmosphere of the place is magical. I was also impressed by the Arch of Titus and Trajan’s Column, which are remarkable monuments.
A visit to the Roman Forum allows you to better understand the history of Rome and its empire. I was fascinated by the anecdotes that the guide told us, such as the one about the origin of the name of the month of July, which is linked to the famous Roman emperor Julius Caesar.

A unique feature of the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore is its museum, housing a collection of religious art objects, including relics of saints and pieces of goldwork. The museum is open every day, except Monday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

You will find a few gay places but the LGBT community is quite small in Rome.
