Once you disembark from the ship, you have several options to quickly reach the heart of Naples and make the most of your stopover.

On foot	Free – About 20 minutes to reach the historic center. Follow Piazza Municipio → Via Medina → Via Incoronata → Via Ponte di Tappia → Via Toledo for a full immersion in Naples.
Metro	$1.80 – Efficient and convenient. Walk 10 minutes to Piazza Municipio (facing the port), take Line 1 toward Piscinola–Scampia. Get off at Toledo, Dante, or Museo to explore the historic heart of the city.

You have several options depending on your budget and preference for convenience. The ideal starting point is Naples train station (Stazione Garibaldi), which can be reached on foot or by metro.

Circumvesuviana train – The most affordable option. For $11.28 round trip, you reach Pompeii Scavi station. Ideal if you’re on a budget and don’t mind walking.
Tourist bus – A simple and direct option. For $23, the bus takes you directly from Naples port to the entrance of Pompeii. Book the round-trip bus shuttle

How to optimize your stopover to visit Pompeii and Naples?

If your stopover is short, it’s hard to do everything. The best compromise is to take one of the fast transfer options to Pompeii (like the tourist bus) for a morning visit, and spend the afternoon walking around Naples’ city center, which is very close to the port.

How much does a pizza cost in Naples?

The price of an authentic Neapolitan pizza is very affordable. A Margherita, the most traditional, costs on average between €4 and €5 in a historic city center pizzeria. In more famous or upscale pizzerias, prices may be slightly higher, but it rarely exceeds €10 for a simple pizza.
