Caribbean cruise ports excursions
Complete guide
For all the Caribbean cruise stops I’ve listed here, I share my honest opinion about the most beautiful ones. Of course, it’s a personal take just a fellow traveler’s point of view (like yours!) with some extra insights from other cruise lovers who’ve shared their experiences too.
I’ve added this little 👁 symbol when it’s a stop you simply can’t miss 👁👁 and 👁👁👁 means “must-see at least once in your life” because, well… it’s paradise!
Unlike the Mediterranean, every Caribbean port I’ve visited has been a total hit none of them were just “meh.” They’re all absolute must-sees. I still added the icons though… just for fun!

When your cruise stops in Fort-de-France, keep in mind that leaving the cruise terminal is completely free. The capital of Martinique has two main docks for welcoming cruise ships. Depending on your cruise line (MSC, Costa, Royal Caribbean, etc.), your ship will dock at one of these two terminals.
One of the cruise terminals is located at Quai des Tournelles, which was renovated in 2023. This terminal features a duty-free shop where passengers can buy local products before heading out to explore Martinique. Taxis are available just outside, and downtown Fort-de-France is only about 2 km away quick and easy to reach.
The second terminal is located at Quai Pointe Simon, right in the heart of downtown. This exceptional location allows you to walk directly to the city’s top attractions, local markets, and historical landmarks without needing any transportation.

I loved this stop! Your cruise arrival in Willemstad, Curaçao is spectacular! Your ship will dock at either the Otrobanda Pier or the Mega Pier. The city immediately grabs your attention, but the most fun is crossing into the heart of the capital.

👁👁👁
Your cruise ship will dock directly at Ocho Rios Port in Jamaica. If adventure calls, the town center is very close. However, a heads-up: my first experience was overwhelming due to very aggressive street vendors and solicitors, which can spoil the immersion.
That’s why the second time, we opted for an organized tour. The Blue Hole tour is an excellent choice. This turquoise water paradise in the jungle lasts about 4 hours and the tour picks you up directly from the port. It’s an affordable option for only $47 (check the link below!) and maximizes your time away from the hectic port.
If the Blue Hole isn’t your thing, the island has plenty of other incredible ways to immerse yourself in Jamaican culture and nature. Here are some ideas to make this stop truly memorable:
- Dunn’s River Falls – an absolute must-see! You can combine climbing the falls with the Blue Hole or even choose a catamaran cruise for snorkeling and dancing to reggae beats.
