Cruise ports and stops in the Caribbean. Hello to all cruise lovers! I’m Sarah, or Miss Tatane 🤩 and if the idea of setting sail on a cruise excites you as much as I do, then welcome aboard this complete guide.

Here, I share my experiences as a cruise traveler, along with valuable tips for getting the most out of every stopover. You’ll find over forty destinations listed below (and more to come), but don’t worry if you can’t find the one you’re looking for yet. Thanks to my good fortune to experience many cruises, new stops will be added soon.

I also reveal the essential activities at each stopover, so that you don’t miss out on any wonders and save money by booking in advance. Embark with me on an incredible sea adventure!

Cruise ports and stops in the Caribbean

For all the  stopovers in the Caribbean  that I have listed for you, I will give you my opinion on the most beautiful ones. This opinion can be subjective because it is only the opinion of a tourist (like you) and a few cruise passengers who also give their valuable opinions.

I put this symbol for you 👁 when you can’t miss it 👁👁 and  👁👁👁 to see it at least once in your life because it’s paradise!

Unlike the Mediterranean, the stopovers in the Caribbean (of all those I made) I didn’t find anything so-so, they were all stopovers not to be missed. I’ll still leave you with the little symbols but it’s just a matter of…

How to leave the cruise port in Fort de France?

When you disembark at the port of Fort-de-France, you will need to walk to access the somewhat distant city center.

You have the option to walk (allow 25 minutes of walking) or take a taxi at the foot of the ship (they are waiting for you within a 5-minute walk). As you may have guessed, it’s a free visit!

The walking distance can vary depending on where the ship is docked (you may only need to walk 10 minutes if it’s well-placed).

If you wish to visit the nearby islands: Bourg des Trois-Îlets, Anse-Mitan (7 euros round trip), Case-Pilote (5 euros round trip), you can opt for the short ferry rides at the west quays.

For rum enthusiasts, beautiful landscapes, and turquoise waters, it’s going to be a delight.

When I went to Fort-de-France, I chose to walk to the city center and then we took a guided tour.

Upon arriving in Saint Lucia, if your cruise ship docks at Pointe Seraphine (where most cruise ships dock), you’ll be just 5 minutes away from the information point located near the Creole Village. I found it fantastic that they’ve created this village for cruise passengers, similar to the Harbor Village in La Goulette, with bars and duty-free shops – it sets the tone for your visit.

I’ve spoken to many cruisers who’ve had their ship anchor offshore. In such cases, rest assured that disembarkation is done via company-chartered dinghies. The boat ride takes around 5 minutes, and you’ll be at the dock in no time!

How to leave the cruise port in Saint John’s?

When you arrive on the island of Saint John’s, I believe you will be the happiest person in the world, what a paradise-like setting! I had tears in my eyes in front of such beauty.

Saint John’s is the capital of Antigua and Barbuda, an archipelago of which Antigua is the main island and represents one of the oldest commercial ports in the Caribbean.

The ship docks in the city center: as you may have guessed, it’s a free exit!

The port itself is a place worth visiting, it’s really lovely and a sacred concept! At the port, you will find the information point, but most importantly, shops where they sell everything (alcohol, tobacco, clothing… all duty-free!).

Right outside the port, musicians are waiting to welcome you properly; it was amazing (can’t wait to go back). It’s an extraordinary destination! The landscape is stunning, the city is magnificent with its colorful houses; you would think you’re in Cuba. It’s the most beautiful destination in the Caribbean.

Taxis are waiting right at the port, and the fare is not expensive, plus they make excellent tour guides. Personally, I think everything can be done on foot, and at least you can fully enjoy the scenery. This island is one of the most fascinating in the world.
